What is the difference between a sample ballot and an absentee/mail ballot?

Sample ballot contains dates, times and locations on where you can early vote, instructions on how to cast a ballot, and your ballot facsimile so you know what candidates and questions will appear on your official ballot.

All active registered voters will automatically receive a mail-in ballot to the mailing address on file. If the voter wishes to not receive a mail-in ballot, they will need to complete a form which is on the Registrar of Voters website. Mail-in ballots can be dropped off at any polling location, Registrar of Voters office or in the postal stream. This is an official ballot that will be cast if voted and returned to the Registrar of Voters office post marked no later than Election Day.
