Where can I receive legal advice from?

Pursuant to NRS 7.285, Washoe311 Service Center is prohibited from dispensing any legal advice as to what best legal options are.  Here are some resources that may be helpful:

  • Washoe Legal Services: Offers assistance completing self-help packets and filing these electronically (e-filing).

  • Washoe County Law Library: Assists in doing legal research.

  • “Lawyer in the Library”: This program is not intended to provide extensive legal advice but is an opportunity where you can speak with an attorney for approximately 10 minutes for free; however, please note that space at these sessions is sometimes limited.

  • Nevada Legal Services:  This organization provides free and low-cost civil legal assistance for those who cannot afford legal help.  In addition, check their calendar because they provide legal workshops on various topics which are open to the public.
