Under WCC Chapter 80, Washoe County Security handles vehicle parking issues in County owned parking lots. Abandoned vehicles outside of parking lots, such as on Park property are handled by the WC Parks and Open Space Department. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) handles parking issues on Washoe County public roads. 

If an abandoned vehicle on County property is reported to WC Security, they will tag the vehicle, wait a minimum of 24 hours and then have it towed. A similar process is followed when dealing with repeat violators.
