Did Washoe County staff put this to a vote for the citizens?
The Washoe County Code Chapter 54 (Alarm Ordinance) did note require a vote by citizens. However, the Ordinance was publicly posted on multiple occasions as an agenda item for the Washoe County Board of County Commissioners. The ordinance was unanimously passed by all Washoe County Commissioners on September 22, 2009 having received no response to the call for public comment. The Ordinance includes establishing the alarm monitoring program.
Washoe County terminated their agreement with CryWolf on September 8th, 2024. No alarm monitoring service is required at this time.
