Does the Washoe County Alarm ordinance govern fire alarms solely wired for smoke, fire and freeze warnings?
Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) encourages residents to find their own emergency monitoring vendors. In regards to a fire alarm permit, which would allow alarm companies to also phone call TMFPD, not just the Sheriff’s Office, this is a permit that the alarm company would pull for the resident.
This is an electrical permit, that would require design of a top shelf system, and would need to be installed by a State Fire Marshal. This will take a different type of detector, not a self-enunciated one. The resident will have to look into a system with dual or triple features (if the resident doesn't already have one with these features) and the alarm company will handle this process for the resident.
Washoe County terminated their agreement with CryWolf on September 8th, 2024. No alarm monitoring service is required at this time.
