Who can one contact to propose a new street name for the street one currently lives on?

Regional Street Naming Committee

The Regional Street Naming Committee (RSNC) hears requests regarding the naming of un-named access easements or the changing of already established street names to some other name. These requests are submitted by a coordinator who receives them from developers, private citizens and others. The coordinator assures the proposed new names meet the criteria for such actions established by interlocal agreement. For the City of Sparks, the RSNC is a recommending body, making recommendations to that city council based on its findings. The city council is the final authority for street name issues for its respective jurisdiction. In Washoe County the RSNC is that authority, with the Board of County Commissioners being the appellate body.
