- People with confirmed COVID-19 should avoid contact with other people as well as pets
- Pet owners should have a preparedness plan in place in the event that they become ill and are unable to care for their pets - Click here
- Ensure that your pets are up to date on all vaccines recommended by their veterinarian
- Prepare a crate and any special food or medications
- Ensure that your pet is wearing up to date identification
- Research potential boarding facilities and requirements for boarding at each of those facilities or designate an alternate caretaker for your animal(s). Click here for more information
- Wash your hands often
- IF a person is sick with COVID-19, contact with animals should be restricted, just like human contact should also be.
- There is currently NOT a COVID-19 vaccine available for animals.
